FAQ

Is there any age limit to participate in Bandmap?
To participate in the Bandmap project you have to be between the age of sixteen and 22 years old. This is because that we think the bands and artists have to be a bit mature to perform outside their own environment. And it’s no secret that it’s really something else, to perform before complete strangers than to good friends at the local youth club.
Is there any rules for what you can and can’t post on the site?
Members that for example proclaim racism ore harass others will be denied access. People that use the pages for other and more unethical reasons will lose their membership for lifetime. But questions ore information regarding event -production and band related stuff are more than welcome to be posted :-)
What is the main reason for creating Bandmap?
The main reason is to help young promising artists and bands to promote them self and get in touch with venues outside their local area. Another reason is to create a network between places and venues that work with youths. We feel that Bandmap can be used as a tool to give the youths around Scandinavia and Europe a richer and better concert offer.
How can I join Bandmap?
The first thing you should if you are a musician is to contact your municipality, youthclub ore youthhouse and ask them if they are connected to the Bandmap site. If they are not but wants to participate in the project, then they are more than welcome to send us an E –mail with some information regarding they’re venue and bands. When all this is done, they can make a profile for the venues and one for each youthband connected to the municipality.
If the municipality already is a member, then they can easily send us information, pictures and sound bytes regarding your band. Then a profile will be created for you within a very short period of time.
What kind of bands and venues can participate in the Bandmap project?
All kinds of young artist ore groups can participate in Bandmap. However is there a criteria that the bands and venues must be serious and wants to achieve something from the site. The venues must also have the right equipment for having a successful concert. (Sound and light rig, backline and a proper place where the artist can sleep over.) The bands and artists MUST be of a proper quality so the audience will be satisfied after the concert.
