REPORT FROM THE ’EVENT WORKSHOP’, NOTODDEN 8-10 September 2006

The reason for choosing to hold a concert and festival organizer course was due to the solid reputation that Notodden has developed for itself during the previous years, both nationally and internationally, as an organizer of the Notodden Blues Festival.

Youth have been responsible for the annual Motstøy festival which is an alcohol-free event. This year the Motstøy festival had the international known band ’Emperor’ as an headliner. This band also headlined at the ’Wacken Openair’ which is the world’s largest outdoor hardrock / heavy metal festival.

Attending the workshop, there were 23 participants from Sør Varanger, Suwalki (Poland), Marker, Rømskog, Tomter, Knapstad and Notodden.

English was the working language used at the workshop, so that everyone could understand and ask questions underway.
